Summer Camp Wrap Up: Three Perspectives

It's a little bit quieter at camp today. All of the campers and  summer staff have gone home. The games, lights, and slip-and-slides have all been packed up. No one is on the walkie-talkie asking for a weather check. After the last few weeks it actually feels kind of eerie, like there's a big game of hide and seek happening that you didn't know about.

Summer is in full swing here at Warren Willis Camp and Conference Center. We’ve been training a new crop of lifeguards and ropes instructors, preparing cabins and lodges, and putting the final touches on all the programming for Summer Camp 2019! Meanwhile, we continue to welcome guests each week at the conference center. It takes a lot of hands to make this place run smoothly, and we feel blessed that so many people are dedicated to the mission of this sacred place.

Spring Update: New Site Name and Logo!

At the start of 2017, the Life Enrichment Center and Warren Willis Camp merged into one site offering sacred space in Fruitland Park. This marriage has been an involved process, and the need was clear for a name that reflected our connectedness. This year, our board approved our new name: Warren Willis United Methodist Camp and Conference Center. In addition to our new name, we have a new logo for this united ministry.

Well, here we are. Friday of Week 5. Over halfway through the summer.
I’ve asked counselors to sum up their entire summer in 6 words. Let’s see what they have to say:
“One of the best summers ever”

“So many kids, so little time”

Staff Changes at Camp

The Warren Willis Camp and the Board of Camping Retreat Ministries are excited to announce that Asa Quinn has been selected as the new Program Coordinator at the Warren Willis Camp. In this role Asa will oversee all of the camp’s programs, both during the summer and throughout the rest of the year.
