Trip camping has a long tradition in the Florida United Methodist Conference. For decades we have been sending groups of high school students into the wilderness for an unforgettable week of adventure. For some students this is their first introduction into camping, canoeing or hiking, for other students this is one more journey to add to their list.
We offer three different trip camps; Our Summer Trail Hike has students backpacking for 4 days and 3 nights. They will hike during the day, and camp on the trail at night. After hiking the group will raft down a white water section of the Chattooga River.
Our Wilderness Week allows students to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities throughout the week. Students will camp in state parks in northern Georgia and spend their days rock climbing, swimming, hiking, caving, and white water rafting.
Our Suwannee River Kayak Trip is our newest trip camp. Students on this trip will travel 30 miles over 4 days of kayaking along the Suwannee River in north Florida. The group will camp at parks and shelters right along the side of the river. This trip is a unique chance to experience a beautiful part of Florida.
All of our trips are lead by experienced guides and counselors from our summer leadership team. Camp provides all the gear and food; you just need to bring a few basic items and your sense of adventure. Each trip incorporates worship and devotions that strive to allow students to commune with God while experiencing the beauty of his creation.
