What to Expect
There are many things to think about during your planning, your arrival, your stay, and when you check out of camp. We hope this information provides you with useful information. As always contact the camp office at (352) 787-4345 at anytime to speak with one of our staff about ideas, questions, or to get clarification about anything pertaining to your retreat. Another great resource for your group is our Guest Use Agreement and Safety Policies booklet. This booklet has valuable information about our policies and procedures that will help make your stay with us safe and productive.
Planning
Planning your retreat can be tricky. How many people are coming? What meals will we be there for? What are some activities we can do at camp? How many males are in my group & how many females are in my group? What types of meeting space(s) do we need? Check out our ideas page, or call our camp staff if you need any help planning your retreat. We are here to serve you. In your planning please remember to bring your own audio visual needs, flip charts, markers, and presentation materials. Don't forget to remind your group that they will need to bring their own bedding, towels, and toiletries. Basic paper supplies will be provided in our bathrooms.
Arrival
It is important for you, the group leader, to check in with the camp host upon arrival. Please contact the host at (352) 978-9014, to let them know if you are going to running early or late, so that we can anticipate your arrival. We have black carts for your group to transport luggage and supplies to your lodging and meeting spaces. For the safety of our guests, we ask that all cars be kept in the parking area.
Protecting our Camp Environment
We are doing our best to make our camp more environmentally sound. This process will take many years, and the help of all of our guests and staff. We have installed programmable thermostats on main lodging areas and main meeting spaces. If the temperature is not to your liking please let your host know, and they will make sure your space is comfortable. We also ask our guests to help turn lights and fans off when they leave their buildings. We have also provided recycling bins for plastics, cans, glass, cardboard, and paper. With a little help we can do our part to protect the future of our camp, and our planet.
Before you Leave
We have an excellent house keeping staff that will make sure your spaces are clean before you get here and will take care of cleaning your spaces after you leave. We do ask our groups to bag all of their trash and put it on their porches before they leave. This will help keep ants out of our buildings. We also ask that you turn off all lights before you leave.
